The Wonders of Zimbabwe

Travelers who have been to Zimbabwe could never seem to have enough of the country. Simply beautiful, exquisite, magnificent or amazing are just some of the words they used to describe the beauty of the country.

Despite the political unrest in the country, Zimbabwe continues to attract many tourists who want to see its spectacular scenery and amazing safaris. Discounted prices are being offered by many travel companies to boost the country’s tourism industry.

Why Visit Zimbabwe

Without a doubt, many people book their flights to Zimbabwe because of the magnificent Victoria Falls. One of the most spectacular sights to behold and a great natural wonder itself, Victoria Falls cascades down to the gorge of Zambezi. The cloud-like mist created by the cascading waters of this waterfall can take your breath away even if viewed 20 miles away.

Adventure-seekers need not go far from the waterfalls to experience some of the best that the country can offer. The gorge of the Zambezi River is a perfect plane to bungee jump. Or you could go white-water rafting down the river. If you have enough of the adventure, try to relax by standing on the bridge that connects Zambia and Zimbabwe or take a sunset flight over Zimbabwe.

If you want to see the wild side of Zimbabwe, head off to the western side where you could find the Hwange National Park which is home to 400 bird species and about 107 different animal breeds. This is also home for over 30,000 elephants. Visit this sanctuary and get to witness hundreds of animals roaming and loitering around the waterholes.

Another place that you should not miss is the Nayanga National Park where you can have a front-seat view to the magnificent Nyagombe Falls, the second highest waterfall in Africa, and the Hones Valley which leads into Mozambique. Other onsite attractions are the Rhodes Museum and the old ruins. You can choose to go hiking to the country’s highest peak, the Mount Nyagani.

If you still want more nature adventure, then go for elephant-back safaris. Explore the Zambezi River while riding an elephant and get to see also other species along the way, such as zebras, hippos, crocodiles and giraffes.

Do not end our visit in Zimbabwe without going to the National Art Gallery. This centuryold colonial building houses everything you want to know about the past of Zimbabwe.
