Philippines and Its 7,000 Breathtaking Islands

The Ifugao people still use this over 2,000-year-old World Heritage site which has an irrigation system emanating from the rainforests above it. The terraces are known for their almost 5,000 feet altitude and about 70 degrees slope. The terraces consist of four areas—Banaue, Klangan, Hungduan and Mayoyao.
For a piece of the Philippine history, head over to Cebu where you can find a big Christian cross and the first flag planted by explorer Ferdinand Magellan for the country of Spain in 1521. Today, the cross hangs inside a small chapel right beside the magnificent Basilica Minore del Santo Nino.
The capital city of the Philippines, Manila is a picture of a bustling metropolis. Right within Manila is the 16th-century walled city, Intramuros which was constructed by Spaniards. It was destroyed during the Second World War In 1980s, the walled city was restored to give visitors a view of the Spanish period remnants.

World War II graves of over 17,000 soldiers are situated inside the American Military Cemetery and Memorial. Meanwhile, you will be interested to visit the Marikina City Footwear Museums which houses the more than two hundred pairs of shoes once owned by Imelda Marcos, the former first lady of the Philippines.
