The Splendor Within Malta

While there, take time to visit the Church of St. Paul’s Shipwreck. The ship was moored in the country in AD 60 and contributed to the Christianization of the island. St. Paul relics are still displayed in the island which also celebrates a feast day in honor of the saint. Unwind in the city by drinking wine in one of the clubs at Triq ir-Repubblika.

The country features several UNESCO World Heritage Sites which would definitely interest history buffs. In Valetta’s Misrah ir-Repubblika is an exhibition and display of the Siege of Malta and also the Knights of St. John. Relics of the knights’ successful defense of the country against the Ottoman Empire soldiers in 1565 are popular to tourists. For more of Malta’s history, hie off to the megalithic temples of Ggantikja in Gozo. Here you can see the oldest human-made and freestanding religious structures dated almost 5,500 years old.

Of course your vacation in Malta would never be complete if you will not go to its gorgeous beaches. Tourists who love luxuriating under the sun head off to the rocky shorelines of St. Julians and Sliema. And tourists who want to frolic in the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean minus their bathing suits go to the nudist beach of Ghajn Tuffieha.
