Greece: A Country With So Much to Offer for Everyone

Greece brought to the world the first Olympic Games and the timeless Greek mythology. Its art, culture, history and literature will always live on and continue to fascinate the generations to come.

Greece is also famous for its amazing architectural ruins, magnificent sunsets and fascinating ancient treasures. The challenge about traveling to Greece is how to manage your time so that you will have enough to allow you to explore and enjoy the plethora of attractions and activities that this country has to offer.

Inside Greece

Some of the famous sites in Greece that many travelers frequented are the Parthenon, the Epidaurus amphitheater and the awe-inspiring Acropolis in Athens. An overlooked attraction in mainland Greece and one that you should take time to explore is the Peloponissos and its gorgeous landscape of caves, mountains and volcanoes. Add to its attractions that you could not never resist are its beaches with crystal clear blue water.

South of Aeropolis is an underground river with 16,000 feet Diros Caves full of stalactices and stalagmites that you can explore by boat. Some of Greece’s historic sites are located in Athens. Famous of them is the Acropolis, the Roman Forum, Temple of Zeus and theater of Dionysus. The city of Athens itself is a sight to behold, having been given a much-needed reconstruction for the 2004 Olympics. Take time also to explore the ancient neighborhoods, particularly the city’s oldest section which is the Plaka.

The biggest and most famous Greek island is the Crete which has two international airports, excellent hotels and various tourist destinations. The Ancient Greek ruler King Minos used to live in Crete. The island’s northeast coast is overdeveloped but if you explore the inland, you can find villages and towns that have remained undisturbed by vacationers.

Another famous vacation destination is Zakynthos or Zante which is a part of the Ioanian Islands. This gorgeous island is frequented by tourists s you could never expect it to be idyllic, especially if you choose to stay in Laganas which is the island’s biggest resort and where most of the hotels can be found. To avoid the throng of tourists, visit the famous attractions such as Shipwreck Beach or Blue Caves early morning or late in the afternoon.
