The Ciudad Perdida or Lost City in Sierra Nevada is another must-see place in Colombia. The city was constructed around 11th century and 14th century but was discovered only sometime in 1972. Over 150 terraces were carved into the city's mountainside. Trekking is the only way to access the city. And along the way, you can stop to admire the magnificent views or swim in a waterfall.

Generally, the climate in Colombia is wet and tropical. Equatorial climate prevails in the eastern, Pacific and Caribbean coastal lowlands which means high temperatures and humidity the whole year. The annual rainfall averages 40 inches. Cold climate can be experienced in the mountainous areas but can change depending on the prevailing winds, topography and altitude.

The peak travel months to Colombia are between December to February. Festivals during the dry season are in great numbers so make sure to book your flights and accommodations in advance. The vastness of Colombia allows you to travel to the country any day of the year because there is always a good chance that you can find a place with warm temperatures.
